The renovated old barn is now a fully comfortable space where modernity blends subtly with old materials and carefully sourced vintage finds. Everything has been thought through so that you feel at home; the living room and kitchen are entirely at your disposal, whether you want to prepare a meal, bake a cake or enjoy an aperitif — all the equipment and utensils are there for you. The three guest rooms are also a lovely mix of contemporary and vintage, each with its own world and its own little decorative touch. The greenery surrounding the barn across 8 hectares is being reforested; the long-term project is to have a barn in the middle of a forest, producing fruits and vegetables just for you. We are beginning to plant — for now there are young trees we are carefully tending, and part of the land remains as pasture to welcome the neighbour's sheep for half the year. And the cherry on the cake: the countryside spa, a pool heated by a wood-burning stove — eco-friendly, slow, perfect for the house (open from April to November). As you may have guessed, Le Détour is a place in transition where nature takes centre stage and where life is good. And for the adventurous and the curious, just steps from the house you can discover the treasures of the Touraine — from the tree-top adventure park at Lac de Rillé, a Sunday stroll through the market town of Langeais, a visit to Candes Saint Martin, or a wine tasting in Bourgueil — there is something for everyone!
