Quai de Syracuse, 20137, Porto-vecchio, France
4 APARTMENTS WITH A VIEW FOR RENT - "In a residence situated between the harbour and the protected salt marshes of Porto-Vecchio, this former wine storage space fell into disuse before being reborn in 2001 through a major renovation that organised the space with bold, contrasting volumes. Generous proportions inspired by the original vats, high windows and ceilings. On the sea side, along the north façade, the rooms are framed by large solid-wood shutters that bring rhythm to the composition. The south side, overlooking the salt pans, houses the living areas, with a play of terraces and loggias dressed in wooden sun shades. The three of us — two brothers and a sister — look after this apartment, which was renovated by our uncle, an architect. He set out to create an artist's studio atmosphere, at once warm and inspiring. You quickly feel at home in this pared-back space with its high ceilings, blending an intimate cocoon with a sense of grandeur." - Charlotte - Photos: Muriel Larie
